GLAAD reached out to Fox and asked that the episode not re-air. Despite this, GLAAD has learned that Fox will re-air the “Quagmire’s Dad” episode of Family Guy this Sunday, July 25.

(365 Gay) (New York) MTV held a solid lead among 15 networks for its representation of gay characters last season, according to a report released Friday. In its fourth annual Network Responsibility Index, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation found that of MTV’s 207.5 hours of original prime-time programming, 42 percent included content reflecting the lives of gay, bisexual and transgender people. This earned MTV the first-ever “Excellent” rating from GLAAD.

Hughley and regular View host Sherri Shepherd communicated misinformation about the causes of increased HIV rates among African American women, essentially blaming gay and bi men for the trend.

This year, 17-year-old Miley Cyrus engaged in a well-publicized same-sex kiss on Britain’s Got Talent two weeks ago, but her show went on as planned on GMA this morning. Double standard much?

(GTN) The Rainbow Talent Company, an entertainment venture based in Southern California, will this year present the Rainbow Show, a gathering of what it is calling “the best entertainers in the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered communities.” The event will be held Labor Day weekend, September 3-6, 2010 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

(GLAAD) GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios was in Los Angeles on Wednesday to co-host an advanced screening of CNN’s new documentary special, Gary & Tony Have a Baby. CNN correspondent Soledad O’Brien joined Barrios on a panel after the film to discuss adoption by loving and committed same-sex couples. “My job is to do the story as authentically as possible,” said O’Brien, who went on to note that the stories of LGBT parents often go unnoticed by the media.
